Equal Rights for Heterosexual Partners!

Equal Rights for Heterosexual Partners!

Same sex partners protected from health care cuts

Starting next year, the state will cut off health care benefits for unmarried domestic partners of state employees.  This is a smart move considering that Arizona must grapple with a $825 million deficit in 2011.

The savings will be marginal but there is no reason taxpayers should pay for the health care benefits of your live-in boyfriend or girlfriend.

But here’s the best part…

The state tried to remove the same health care benefits for gay partners of state employees but was blocked by ObamaCare and a court ruling!  So if you are a male employee of the state and have a live-in girlfriend, she will lose her health care benefits.

But if you are one of the 408 same-sex partners of a state employee, then no problemo.

The state is appealing the court ruling to be able to drop health care benefits for all domestic partners (straight and same-sex) but, for once, the shoe is on the other foot and oppressed heterosexual partners have a good reason to march in the streets!
