Mexico Doesn’t Want Its Thugs Back

I came across a short but important item in last Friday’s edition of the San Diego Union-Tribune. Mayors of northern Mexican cities are asking U.S. officials to stop returning convicts to their communities in Mexico. According to Jose Reyes Ferriz, mayor of Ciudad Juarez, 80,000 people have been deported to his city in the past three years. Of those, 28,000 were convicted of crimes while in the U.S. These include 7,000 murderers and 2,000 rapists. Apparently  the large number of criminal deportees is contributing to the violence in Juarez, which has had more than 2,200 homicides so far this year.

Mexico’s leaders  thought they had seen the last of these criminal thugs. What exactly are we in the U.S. supposed to do with them? Think about it… It’s not just American jobs they’re taking; it’s American lives!

Yet Janet Napolitano, Homeland Security Secretary, and the congressional “bobble-heads” – - including Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY), chairman of the Immigration Subcommittee, Senator Harry Reid (D-NV), majority leader, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) – - have declared the border “secure!” Congress, as I am sure you know, is responsible for overseeing federal agencies and activities. These three, along with most of their colleagues, have apparently confused “overlook” with “oversight!”

Of course many more criminal aliens are serving their sentences for their crimes, many of which, incidentally, were not committed in “border” states.

Many thousands of aliens who have committed felonies on our country are fugitives who are on the run and, in fact, may well have run all the way home- to their native countries in an effort to evade the “long arm of the law!”

Many of the victims of the crimes perpetrated by these alien criminals are members of the immigrant communities across our nation; yet anyone who advocates for the securing of our border against unlawful entry is called a “racist” or otherwise insulted by members of various so-called “pro-immigrant” groups who know darn well that the very immigrants they claim to be concerned about are the most likely victims of these criminal aliens!

DHS is once again talking about sending criminal aliens  into the interior of Mexico by plan, to make it a bit more difficult for them to illegally reenter the United States. So it will take them days rather than mere hours to run the borders once again and continue to commit crimes in communities across the nation!  If our nation’s borders are as secure as Chuck Schumer and company claim they are, why spend the extra money on deterrence?

The answer, of course, is that the borders are anything but secure. Furthermore, once these illegal aliens make their way beyond the border, there are precious few ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) agents who will seek them out.  They most likely will not come to anyone’s attention until they commit more rapes, more robberies and more murders!
