Have you ever made a promise or thought you did someone a favor only to find out that what you did had only infuriated them? That is exactly what has happened with the “closing of Gitmo,” followed by the attempts to put the 9/11 co-conspirators on trial. Attorney General Eric Holder, testifying the other day in front of Congress again stated that the Obama administration still has no clue where they are going to hold the trials for these terrorists.
What is Obama thinking here? First, they come up with the plan to give these low lifes a fair American trial. The last time I checked, they weren’t American citizens…yet. I say yet here because one of the next brilliant goals of the Administration is to allow illegal immigrant workers to obtain citizenship in order to win the latino vote and subsequently raise the price of strawberries 8000%. What does that mean for the 9/11 terrorists? A broad bill could quite possibly afford these terrorists the American citizenship that they always wanted. With citizenship, they would then have the right to a fair trial in whatever American jurisdiction they want, not that we aren’t giving them that already. Wouldn’t that negate all of those silly pundits and congressmen who argue that because this was an act of war by a foreigner that they should be tried in front of a military tribunal?
Just in case the administration gets called out on that move, let’s take a look at plan B, or now plan C; actually holding the trials on American soil. I thought it was a great idea to hold the 9/11 trials in the heart of New York City, and by great idea, I mean most idiotic plan I have heard in a while. Why would you put a group of some of the world’s most dangerous criminals right in the heart of the most densely populated area of the United States? Not to say that Hollywood is correct, but I can think of about a dozen movies and television shows that would accurately depict the plight of this decision, including, but not limited to: ConAir, every episode of 24, The Dark Knight, Bad Boys 2 and that Lethal Weapon where Mel Gibson took on the Asian mafia. Sure, we won in all of those, but I don’t think America’s potential containment and transportation of criminals in the real world would be as clean and safe. Even Senator Chuck Schumer agrees with that sentiment.
Why would we risk more lives in order to put these people, if you can call them that, on trial? And why take them back to New York City? It makes no sense. At the least, shouldn’t we hold the trials in Barrack’s hometown in Nairob..I mean…Chicago? I’m not sure how it would be any different than the initial suggestion of New York. Just as a side fact, Obama threw out the first pitch on Opening Day of baseball in Washington about a week and a half ago, accompanied by a plethora of boos when he put on a White Sox hat to do so. Not too big of a deal until the announcers later during his booth interview began asking him about his favorite Sox players of all time and he COULDN’T NAME A SINGLE PLAYER. Sorry, I’ve had no other forum wherein I could share that fact.
What town will have the pleasure of hosting these trials? How will they even select a lucky place for them? I’m willing to bet that they are working on arguments to hold the trials in one of those damned red states who voted against and now have filed in court to stop the Health Care Bill. And if you’re holding an office pool, put money on Orlando or Dallas/Houston/any major city in Texas. Many have found out over the years that Obama is a vengeful god and he will not stand for those who speak out against him. This will be yet another of those instances. That also means that I am probably on a watch list somewhere. It has been 9 years since the 9/11 attacks, isn’t it time to bring an end to these disgusting individuals who have caused so much death and devastation to our country?
